Better yet, why not begin this new chapter in our stunning gardens and then party the night away in “The Barn”?

Glenrock Gardens, arguably Australia’s best country garden, is nestled within a 200-acre farm in the historic town of Tenterfield in the
Northern Highlands of New South Wales. Indulge all of your senses… mouth-watering dishes in The Barn, daytime or evening walks breathing in the fresh country air infused with scented flowers, relaxing by the lakes and listening to the fountain and the many bird calls, and soaking in the sun and the High Country light on the verandah overlooking the lakes.

The gardens are exquisite; a photographer’s paradise, some say a living piece of art. They include many differing garden rooms and water views within the 10-acre garden ensuring that every season adds something magical to your unique experience.

The reception

The Barn is Glenrock Gardens purpose built wedding venue and it has become the latest venue of choice in Tenterfield for wedding receptions, events and indeed any function. The building was built in an Aussie Woolshed style and is constructed of various timbers including spotted gum, cypress, and ironbark with massive picture windows and a verandah which brings the garden, metaphorically, right into the venue.

The 17 m x 10 m space has soaring ceilings with timber trusses decorated with festoon lights and swathes of silk, creating a spacious area which can seat up to 126 people inside with the addition of another 36 on the verandah.

If you are after an “open air” experience the automatic cafe blinds can be raised giving you direct access to serene reflections of the lakes and the verandah. For a more intimate or cosy experience you can gather around the comfortable lounge area surrounding the modern combustion stove.

Old Whiskey barrels with table tops and a designer outdoor fire pit allow you and your guests to enjoy the Courtyard and the Terrace, where champagne and canapés can be served prior to your function, in any season.

Our oak cross-backed chairs are a perfect match for our long timber tables. The Barn boasts a state of the art sound system, a full commercial kitchen, and a fully licensed bar. You are welcome to enhance the space with with your personal choice of décor, florals and lighting.

the ceremony

One of the special benefits of hosting your wedding at Glenrock Gardens is that you are able to design your ceremony in the way you have always dreamed. For some, the ceremony is a formality, but for others, the ceremony detail is hugely important.

The exquisite gardens contain many options for your ceremony.

The North Bank is our most popular spot for both small and large groups. Located beside the Main Lake with mature Weeping Willows adding beauty and grace to the stunning reflections is the water.

The Croquet Lawn is a large area contained within a border of sweet-smelling perennial shrubs and graceful trees. Two Japanese elms stand tall above a metal ivy arch and the area is accessed beneath rose-covered arbours.

Beneath the Wisteria Tunnel is yet another delightful spot.

There are multiple small areas to choose from, enclosed by deciduous and rare trees lining the banks of the central lake.
